| The first
hits compilation, chronologically tracing Aerosmith's music from 1973
to today, incorporating all their major hits during their Columbia and
Geffen periods plus two new songs, "Girls of Summer" and
"Lay It Down" especially written for the album (written in
Maui during Feb-March 2002). It takes tracks from all studio albums
except "A Night In the Ruts", "Rock In A Hard
Place" and "Done With Mirrors". Excluding the 2
new tracks, 24 of the remaining 28 tracks were released as singles in the USA, and of which 17 were top 30 hits - including 7 top 10 tunes.
First ten tracks on CD 1 are the same tracks (and order) as on the Greatest Hits 1973-1988 album although the tracks are original album tracks and not tracks edited for single release in the 1970s. From the Geffen period, it takes 12 of the 15 songs from "Big Ones". The Draw The Line remix is the original mix that was released on promo singles in mid-1977 prior to the competition of the Draw The Line album. This version later showed up on Pandora's Box. The South Beach Mix of Pink is the original version of Pink they recorded whilst working with Ballard on the first attempt of an album release they made (later re-recorded with Kevin Shirley and called Nine Lives). The radio remix of Just Push Play was created in late 2001 when the track was released as a single (ie clean version). It appeared first on a bonus disc when the album "Just Push Play" was re-issued in Japan in January 2002. During early June, the album went through a couple of re-titles from Ultimate Hits to Rockimus Maximus: Ultimate Hits to now Om Teah: Ultimate Aerosmith Hits (detailed by Billboard, June 10th) and also saw the release date move out to July 3, 2002 (from June 25, 2002) The albums will be available in four different 3D covers.
