AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS (AMA)

The Amercian Music Awards Awards began in 1974 and are usually hosted at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The Heavy Metal/Hard Rock category was added in 1989 and was dropped in 1998 (maybe a sign of the times).
